More Information
Full title of the exhibition: Wilson at Work: Techniques of an 18th Century Painter. An Exhibition presenting recent Technical Research into the Portraits and Landscapes by Richard Wilson in the Collections of the National Museum and Gallery Cardiff.

This exhibition highlighted some of the results of a two-year research project into the paintings of Richard Wilson at the National Museum of Wales, funded by a Getty Grant. The paintings were examined using X-ray, infra-red and scanning electron microscopy technology to find out more about their stucture and materials, thus providing insights into the artist's working methods.
