Kate Lowry has noted: Glue relined. Original turnovers removed at time of lining. Pine stretcher dates from lining. Double layered white ground, commercially prepared. X-ray shows a typical reserve left for the landscape against the sky. However the sky has an unusually elaborate texture for Wilson. The willow tree and the tree at the right are painted over the sky.
