Subject
Booth suggested the location as Wales but it has also been seen as the Roman Campagna. However, the tree at the right, perhaps intended as an oak, is rather more British than Italian in appearance.

Critical commentary
A late work but the dating can only be tentative and the authorship has been questioned, with William Hodges proposed rather than Wilson.
