Robin Simon has identified the site as the Fosso della Cecchina beneath the bridge on the via Nomentana that leads to the Ponte Nomentano. These arches also appear at the left of D316 The Via Nomentana Yale Center for British Art, Paul Mellon Collection, New Haven.
