    Biographical Details
    Sir Richard Ford was the son of Dr James Ford. In 1789 he became M.P. for East Grinstead and in 1791 for Appleby. He went on to become Chief Magistrate at Bow Street. In 1794 he married Marianne Booth and was knighted in 1801. He inherited a number of Wilson paintings and drawings.
