Flintshire Historical Society Journal, vol. 35, pp. 85-113
The article 'seeks to summarise what is known about the Welsh background of Richard Wilson and his family, to separate it, as far as possible, from the mythology which surrounds him, and to fill out family details by using information apparently not known to earlier biographers.' It includes brief lives of Hugh Lloyd (1689-1749), Vicar of Mold and Sir George Wynne of Leeswood (1700-1756) and discusses the part played by them and by other benefactors in the lives of Richard Wilson and his family.
