    The viewpoint is nearer the edge of the river than in other versions, giving the falls greater height; a woman is in the right foreground.

    As noted by Constable, this version closely resembles a drawing of the subject formerly in the collection of Mrs Richard Ford and described in the Tate Gallery exhibition of 1925 as View of Tivoli (81)
