    Description
An outline drawing over two pages of a landscape with a square crenellated tower in a wooded valley with figures
    Provenance
Oldfield Bowles; given to Sir George Beaumont, 1784; thence by descent until 1963, when sold to Paul Mellon
    Signature/inscription
    Unsigned; no inscription
    Critical commentary
A group of figures summarily indicated on the extreme left seem to be carrying something long - perhaps a tree trunk. Clements noted that the site might be near Marino as a similarly crenellated tower occurs in a gouache showing the town by Giovanni Battista Busiri which in 1968 was in the R.W. Ketton-Cramer collecftion, and which she reproduces (Fig. 48).
