    Critical commentary
Wilson's many repetitions of this subject are either with or without figures in the foreground. Morris's print however represents yet another variant with three men in a rowing boat, who are also present in D354, Wilson's only drawing of the subject. According to Constable the source of Morris's engraving was an untraced painting owned by ‘Peter Pindar’ (Dr John Wolcot). See also P86D.
