    Critical commentary
This drawing is the verso of D350/1 Study for Wilton House: Temple Copse and Stables. It, too, is evidently an aide-memoire, taken hastily on the spot, and was eventually worked up into P77. Here the artist's main concern is perspective, which may explain the exaggerated foreshortening of the buildings in the painting.

    Condition/Conservation
Quite good condition but some discolouration at corners. There is fading upper left and upper right from old hinges. In the centre between the trees is a black ink mark.
