    Stanley Marling was a member of a wealthy wool family in the Cotswolds. Wilson was his favourite artist. He left 11 paintings and one drawing by or attributed to the artist, to Gloucester Museum and Art Gallery in 1963. along with many other pieces of fine and decorative art.
