Full title: Treasures of Art in Great Britain: Being an Account of the Chief Collections of Paintings, Drawings, Sculptures, Illuminated MSS., &c. &c. by Dr. Waagen, Director of the Royal Gallery of Pictures, Berlin.. Three volumes based on material collected by Waagen in 1835 and 1850. They were followed by a Supplement [Waagen 1857] based on visits to Britain made in 1854, 1856 and 1857. Originally written in German they were translated into English by Lady Eastlake.
