Description
Italianate landscape with two figures examining a tomb under trees in the foreground. There is a figure on horseback accompanied by a pedestrian and a dog on the road at the left. A lake can be seen behind with buildings on the right and another tomb and trees in the centre.

The scene is essentially a capriccio but the prominent building on the right is based on the Villa Medici, Rome
