Henry Revely, a Commissioner of Excise, built a very distinguished collection of prints and drawings, ranging from the works of Dürer to those of his own contemporaries. His 1852 sale included D75 (see below) and other British drawings by artists including Hogarth and Blake. In 1820 he published Notices illustrative of the Drawings and Sketches of some of the most distinguished Masters in all the principal Schools of Design. His collection was dispersed at Christie's, 11-12 May 1852, and Sotheby's, 21 April 1884.
