Ralph Willett was a well known collector of books and engravings. Between 1752 and 1760 he built Merly House, near Wimborne, Dorset and from 1772 added a wing to contain his vast library. One of two overdoors there was Wilson's P180 Athens in its flourishing State and the other was Solomon Delane's Athens in its Present State of Ruin, location unknown but see Pouncy's print (NWE49).
