Vol. 49, 1983, pp. 37-132. The original is in the library of Holkham Hall, Norfolk (MSS.744). It was first described by C.W. James in Chief Justice Coke, his Family and Descendants at Holkham (1929). There it was stated that paintings by Wilson were bought by Brettingham for Lord Leicester. However, the Account Book was part of Matthew Brettingham's personal property and there is little reason to assume that the paintings were intended for Holkham. The majority of the entries pertain to Brettingham's activities as a dealer especially in sculpture; but landscapes by Wilson are mentioned on pp. 32, 42, 45, 66, 70 and 84. He has a useful entry in the index, p. 123.
