    Critical commentary
    Described in Booth Notes Doc. 9 as '2 -- a View in Italy by Sea Side pad: there [?] (oval)'. This seems to be evidence that the work was painted during Wilson's year in Italy (1750-57) and perhaps that it was executed en plein air.
